Building the Dream Physique: What It Really Takes
|BackStory|
I’m 17 now. I’m not rich. No trainers, no gym memberships, no perfect plan. Just discipline, pain, and a goal: to build the best version of me.
This isn’t some motivation fluff. This is what it actually takes.
Where It All Began
It started when I was 14. I was overweight—90 kg (about 200 lbs) at 173 cm tall (5'8"). People laughed. Teased. The constant “jokes” weren’t harmless—they hurt. And deep inside, something clicked. I wanted to change. Not to prove them wrong, but to prove myself right.
I started working out at home. Couldn’t even do 10 clean push-ups. I doubted myself constantly. But little by little, things got easier. The body adapted. I was locked in—training every day, no rest. The workouts weren’t the hard part anymore. It was the discipline that tested me.
The Setback
Two months in, I was seeing serious progress—10 kg lost. Then, a stupid accident. I fell and injured my leg. Couldn’t work out for over a week. Then two. From training every single day, to suddenly doing nothing. The momentum vanished. And with it, so did my motivation.
The Loop
A year passed. I got lazy. Life kept moving whether i was ready or not. I played basketball, and got lean again just through sports. I thought I was back on track. Then came another injury. A fracture. I quit basketball soon after. Months passed. I turned 16 and hit 88 kg again.
The cycle was brutal. I kept trying to restart, but each time, soreness or self-doubt made me quit again. I was stuck. I kept talking like I was disciplined—but my actions didn’t match my words.
The Turning Point
What changed?
Purpose.
I remembered the peace that came with discipline. The clarity. The feeling that I was chasing something greater. That I wasn’t meant to be average. I looked in the mirror and realized: I say I’m not like the others—but I act like everyone else.
It humbled me.
From that point, I started building something stronger than muscle: a mindset.
Discipline Isn’t Motivation
Motivation fades. Discipline stays. But discipline doesn’t come from nowhere.
It starts with a shift in perspective.
You stop chasing comfort. You start chasing progress.
You stop looking for quick results. You start becoming the type of person who shows up no matter what.
I’m far from my dream physique. But I know I’ll get there. Not because I’m gifted. Not because I’m special. But because I have a disciplined mind—and that’s stronger than anything thrown my way.
To Whoever’s Reading This
You might feel stuck. Maybe you’ve been on and off like I was.
You might feel like you’re behind.
But you’re not.
The line between “lost” and “focused” is thin—and you can cross it today.
Just decide. Discipline isn’t built overnight. It’s built by showing up when no one’s watching.
Even when it hurts.
Even when it’s boring.
Even when it feels like it’s not working.
Thank you.
If you stayed, I'll make a real Guide to achieving this once we change our perspectives on this matter.
Stay tuned!
